OMAHA (said in Peyton Manning voice)

We must have been exhausted because we all got a solid eight hours of sleep last night in the Indiana Dunes. It took awhile, but the humidity and heat eventually subsided for a comfortable night sleep in the tent.

After a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats, we headed to a marsh trail about a mile back from Lake Michigan. It was a nice two-mile hike. We didn't see anything new bird-wise, at least I didn't, but there were tons of great blue herons and egrets. I mean, there were six or seven herons flying all at once. It was quite a sight!

After the hike, we got back, sweaty, of course, and decided to take quick showers before heading to Nebraska.

By the time we got in the road, it was 11:10 am (central time). We took a few stops, but made pretty decent time as we got to our campground around 7.

There isn't a whole lot to say about the rest of indiana, Illinois, or Iowa. It was all the same. It's beautiful farming scenery, but it gets old after awhile. There were a lot of wind mills, though. That was cool.

After we got into Omaha, we quickly set up camp and headed out to dinner. Lauren found a Diners, Dine-ins, and Dives restaurant for us to go to. It was called Brew Burgers and that food was worth the hype. Cara and I got the same exact burger, the Blue Jay Burger, a portobello-infused burger with gorganzola cheese and onions.

After dinner, we headed back to camp. We're just taking it easy tonight, hoping to get a good night's rest, and taking off for Boulder (and Black Hawk) Colorado as early possible tomorrow!

We're all looking forward to spending some time in Colorado and the Rockies. We booked our white water rafting excursion for Thursday!
